The app ships its own parser and ffmpeg — download, mux and subtitles in one step.
Why the desktop app
Frequently asked questions
Is the desktop downloader really free?
Yes — no daily quota, no video-length limit, and we never add a watermark. The app runs entirely on your own machine, so there is no server for us to pay for and no cap to enforce.
Which sites are supported?
Anything the built-in yt-dlp engine handles: YouTube, TikTok, Bilibili, Instagram, X (Twitter), Reddit, Vimeo and 1750+ more. Paste a link and press parse — the app figures out the rest.
Which Mac version do I need — Apple silicon or Intel?
Open About This Mac from the Apple menu. A chip named Apple M1, M2, M3 or M4 takes the Apple silicon build; a processor named Intel takes the Intel build. Windows users need Windows 10 or later, 64-bit.
Can I download just subtitles, or audio only?
Both. Choose the combination before you start: video with audio already merged, audio-only tracks, or subtitles in their own languages — YouTube videos regularly expose dozens of subtitle tracks.
Do my videos pass through your server?
No. The downloader runs yt-dlp and ffmpeg locally and writes straight to the folder you pick. We never see what you save, which is also why login-only videos need your own cookie imported into the client.
A download failed. What should I check first?
Three causes cover nearly everything: the video is private or login-gated (import cookies in the client), it is blocked in your region, or the site changed its player and the engine needs an update — the engine refreshes itself weekly.
